TO PROCEED WITH A CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONY IN COSTA RICA, OUR LAWYER WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ABOUT THE BRIDE AND GROOM
Information:
The following information for BOTH THE BRIDE AND THE GROOM must be sent to our office six weeks prior to the ceremony:
- Full, legal name
- Nationality and Passport number
- Current address(es)
- Professional degrees or line of work/occupation
- Father’s full name
- Mother’s full name
- Parent’s address(es)
- Marital status single, divorced, widowed (including the number of times previously married)
DOCUMENTS:
The following documents must be in our office one month prior to the ceremony. A Costa Rican Consulate or The Costa Rican Embassy must certify these documents before they are sent to us.
- Certified copy of Birth Certificate
- Official copy of original divorce papers (if applicable), certified at a Costa Rican consulate or embassy Full name of former spouse is required.
- For the Bride (if applicable), 300 days must have transpired from the official date of divorce from former husband.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The bride, groom and two witnesses must bring their official passports to the actual ceremony. If you need witnesses, we can arrange for someone to act as your witnesses.
